Joining the choir

cp4The Choir of Pride & Joy is the entry point for any people wishing to sing with us.

Due to the popularity of the Choir of Hard Knocks, the Choir of Pride & Joy (formerly known as Morning Bells) was established to provide vocal skill training, socialization opportunities and an avenue to build confidence, creativity and enjoyment of the arts in a welcoming, safe and non-judgmental environment.

The Choir of Pride & Joy is led by Musical Director Dr Jonathon Welch and Drama Teacher and Musician, Michael Eckersall and is supported by a team of volunteers.

ELIGIBILITY

To be able to participate in the Melbourne Street Choir Choral Program, all potential singers must fit the criteria of homeless or disadvantaged.  People can self refer to the choir or they can be referred by an agency.

Our Choral Program is primarily for people who for reason of illness or life circumstance would not be able to access another choir in the community.  We encourage anyone who can access and participate in another choir in the community to do so.

The Choir of Pride & Joy rehearse every Wednesday at BMW Edge at Federation Square.  Rehearsals commence at 11.30am with a light snack.  Singing starts at 12.00 noon until 3.00pm after which we all share a meal and have a chat.

If you are interested in coming along to a rehearsal, please contact us beforehand.
