transforming lives – choir wins community service award
Rotary Southbank – Community Service Awards

The Choir of Hope and Inspiration were thrilled to be invited to perform at the Southbank Rotary Inaugural Community Service Awards, held at the Crown Palladium on Thursday night 20th May. These awards were a wonderful initiative created to celebrate and acknowledge the mutually be
neficial partnerships that are increasingly developing between not for profit organisations and corporates. It was great to see that so many corporates have genuinely embraced their social responsibilities in order to help those in need, and indeed the Choir’s own relationship with Federation Square and BMW Edge was held up as a fine example of such a partnership.
The evening was a great success on a number of counts. The Choir of Hope and Inspiration performed beautifully (as always!) and received some excellent feedback, including an invitation to perform at the same dinner next year! We were also able to invite a number of the Choir’s ‘friends and supporters’ to attend the dinner with us, enabling us to thank them for their support and share with them the choir’s plans and aspirations for the years ahead. In particular it was great to be able to recognise the generosity of Kate Brennan and Jane Sydenham Clarke from Federation Square, who have been so instrumental in orchestrating the Choir’s new residency at BMW Edge.
To top it all off, we were then both surprised and delighted to receive one of the inaugural community service awards, that will enable us to enjoy $5,000 worth of marketing services from Pike’s Peak Management and Marketing Consultants, one of the many companies who so generously donated their services to the awards.
Congratulations to Southbank Rotary on this wonderful initiative, which we are confident will encourage many other corporates to think seriously about how they can partner with not for profits and play more of a helping role in their own communities.
